Encounter Groups
Our Encounter Groups provide an opportunity for deeper fellowship and Bible study in a small group setting. These groups meet in homes around our community during the week. Contact Pastor Dan to find a group to join.
Church Picnic
Our church picnic is on Sunday, May 26. The fun takes place at Charlie Vettiner Park right here in J-Town. Burgers, hot dogs, drinks, and paper products are provided. Families are encouraged to bring a side dish and dessert to share. Games and activities will be available following the meal. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite some new folks to come and experience the life of Encounter Church. The picnic begins at 10:30am at the park. We will not be having a service at the church building the day of the picnic.
Men’s Bible Study
On the first Saturday morning of the month the men gather at the church building for a Bible Study from 8:00-9:30am. Coffee and donuts are served. Contact Pastor Dan Horton for more details. The next study is scheduled for June 1.
Spread the Word
On the first Wednesdays of each month this summer we will be hitting the streets and spreading the word as we invite our neighbors to Encounter Church. We will meet at the church building for a potluck meal starting at 6:30pm and then head out to canvas and hang door fliers at the homes in the neighborhoods around the church building. A prayer team will stay back at the church building while the others are walking the streets. Lace up your tennis shoes and help us spread the word.
July Combined Sunday Services

Food Truck Sunday
Bring all your friends to Food Truck Sunday on July 14. Immediately after the church service we will head to the front parking lot for a time of tasty street food, desserts, and fun activities. This event has become a church family favorite over the past couple of years. Mark your calendars and plan on joining in the fun.
Back to School Block Party
Don’t miss our Back-to-School Block Party on Friday, August 2 from 6-8:30pm. There will be outdoor fun for the whole family. Free food, bounce houses, and games. Each student will receive a free backpack and school supplies. All are invited.
