Our Stories

Encounter Church has changed my whole view of what church is all about. I've found a loving, accepting place that is pushing me to a new understanding of the Bible and Jesus' love.  I grew up in a very traditional church and never understood how to have a personal relationship with The Lord. I can hardly describe what God has done for me these past few years in my spiritual walk. He took my broken and jaded heart and replaced it with a brand new one; one that is sensitive to the moving of his Holy Spirit.  Encounter has given me opportunities to see that the Church is important and  that we need to be connected to other Christians in order to be useful and effective for the Glory of God.  Encounter is not just a bunch of hypocrites - it’s filled with genuine followers of Christ, who are not perfect, but who want to worship God together, build one another up and engage the culture around us in love and truth. -Brian H.


I’m so grateful for how God is working through Encounter Church. I’ve learned so much through the Bible studies, Sunday lessons, group discussions and the many actions of others. During one of Encounter's Community Connect events we were invited to come and check out Encounter. Sam immediately loved the warm atmosphere that met us at the door. After a few weeks I began to realize what she yearned for and what I had never experienced in a church - community. At Encounter we found a real church family. -Jeremy P.


My husband and I have been in church all our lives and it’s been part of our social fabric from toddlers to now. We’ve attended several different churches over the years from small, medium, to mega and like our parents we have taken our children since birth.But when our two sons stopped going with us we prayed for God to lead us to a church where we could all attend together again. God answered that prayer by bringing us to Encounter. What a blessing to be part of this vibrant, growing body. Sitting in church together again and to see our sons engaged and making it part of their social fabric is an answered prayer for which we are so grateful. For John and me personally, we have really enjoyed becoming part of Encounter, making new friends, hosting Bible studies and church parties in our home. It’s like a breath of fresh air in our spiritual lives and we look forward to being a part of what God is doing in this special place. -Lisa T.
