Encounter’s Story

Encounter Church’s story began in the fall of 2003. At that point Encounter Church was merely a dream to create a church that was committed to the Bible and active in sharing God’s transforming love and truth in ways that connect with emerging generations.

In the spring of 2006, Encounter Church launched with just a few families meeting in a school library. Over the past several years we have watched God build His church through the transforming power and hope of Jesus Christ.

Many are curious why we would choose a name such as Encounter. Throughout the Bible, we are able to read the historical accounts of many individual’s having a life transforming encounter with Jesus.

We believe that God is still involved in the world today and desires you to have a life changing encounter with him.

Become a Part of the Story

After being invited to one of Encounter’s activities, I decided to visit a Sunday morning Worship Gathering. At the Worship Gathering I was greeted with a handshake, a smile and a joke. I had never really felt at home at a church until I came to Encounter. -David A.

Encounter has allowed me to serve. I have especially enjoyed teaching the 4 and 5 year olds.  It has stretched my ability to teach and forced me to relate to and disciple an age group that I would otherwise probably not interact with.  They are a lot of fun and it's fulfilling to know that I'm impacting the next generation. -Josh K.

I appreciate that everyone truly cares for one another, there is a sense of "Family", the sermons are great, the people are great and the music rocks! -Kara B.

I'd been searching for something for a long time. When my children and I first came to Encounter I knew I'd found it.  My husband doesn't "do church," but on the few occasions he's come with us he really enjoyed himself.  I think the more he sees the positive things that are happening within Encounter and the impact it's having in our lives that he will eventually decide to come regularly. -Melanie P.
